Bubba turned 6 months old!! Its crazy how fast the second child grows! Woo Hoo we made it 6 month breastfeeding exclusively, i'm so proud of us both!!
We just finished eating dinner and Cade sang Bubba Happy Half Birthday then had to blow out his imaginary candle and then eat his cake (his meatball from dinner) LOL
Connor is very much on a schedule, this is how it goes:
MWTh
7:30am Wake up
8:30am Bring BooBoo to school
10:00am Nurse & nap
11:00am Wake & Play
11:45am Pick up BooBoo
12:30 Lunch
1:30 Nurse & nap
3:00 Wake & play
5:00 Nurse & Nap
6:00 Dinner
8:30 Storytime & Nurse & Bed
12am Nurse
3am Nurse
6am Nurse & plays in bed till 7am sleeps till 7:30am when Cade is knocking on the door to get up..
He has been eating fruits & veggies the past 3 weeks and is doing great! He doesnt really favor anything more then another yet.. I think he just loves everything.. LOL
So far he has tried apples, pears, avocado, bananas, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, prunes, apple butternut squash.
He gets fruit for lunch & veggies for dinner & sometimes something in his snack mesh thing with bananas or grapes in it..
He got his own sip cup too and loves to drink water from it..
He got his first gerber puffs this week, he loves them!!
Bubba is increasingly becoming more interested in playing with BooBoo & by himself. He is much more dextarious than Caiden was at this age. He picks up things very easily and loves pushing cars back and forth. Bubba's favorite toy is probably his Sophie giraffe or his Elephant teether, but he also likes the leap frog wheel and helicoptor, & of course balls.
He loves the movie Cars, he will sit with Caiden and watch it.. any other show/ movies he isnt interested in.
He has been more of a chatterbox lately saying yayayaya and nananaa lol its so cute..
Bubba still isnt interested in a pacifier, we have pretty much given up on that effort. He loves blankets though, but doesn't yet prefer a specific one..
He has been sitting up on his own for a month now but has not rolled over.. not that he isnt strong enough, but he just doesnt get enough practice.. but we are working on it..
Bubba's 6 month well check: He did great, Dr said he is very healthy still in 90th percentile for height & weight and 75% in HC. Dr wasnt too concerned about him not being very mobile yet because it seems he skipped over that skill to be able to sit up so early. He gave him the ok to eat solids.. Which he already is and said diuted juice is fine. He got his 3 shots and said if we wanted him to get the flu shot that would have to wait 3 weeks & come back.
This weekend we are getting some family pictures done out by hubs work so we will always remember our time out here, and how little the boys were before we moved.. It should be fun.. Plus I got the boys some super cute outfits!!

Cloth Diaper Report Month 5
How many diapers a day used? average 6
How many wipes? 1-2 per change
What Brands were used? SoftBums, Mud Butts, Go Green, Grovia, Kawaii GNHW & Snazzy Minky & my own Lil Freddys :)
What brand/ style fit best? SoftBums/ AI2 ECHO still I like OMNIs for long trips with a OS bamboo pod, and Mud Butts AI2
Were you able to reuse your AI2 shells during the same day? If so how many times? Yes about 3 times, Really could get by only using 2-3 shells a day.
What fit problems did you have? He is between snaps on his mud butts & kawaii diapers, so they dont snap smoothly.. and most diapers we dont snap the rise.
What was the print/ color you grabbed the most? SoftBums nuclear pumpkin, ebony & lime, then Mud Butt Vikings purple & marigold & still LOVE giraffes, & Grovia airplanes!
Best on the go diaper? Grovia AI2 & SofBums Echo
What type of insert/ soakers worked the best? SoftBums dry touch opods day, then superpod. Grovia staydry soakers next, then the mud butt soakers
The worst? I have some SoftBums bamboo that are wider than others that dont fit good in the echo shells.. thinking about destashing them for the new bamboo opods or new supers.
Overnight? Ive been doing a Gdiaper disposable liner inside a Kawaii GNHW shell, its trimmer than double stuffing. Even though we probably could get by with one mud butt soaker.. He isnt much of a heavy wetter..
Did you have any blowouts? Unfortunatly one, his Viks purple diaper back elastic kicked the bucket and it happen to be the same day he had a major unload.. :/
What was your washing schedule like? Regular wash in hot/ cold cycle 2x rinse, short cold/ cold cycle no detergent, sun dry the stained shells and soakers, machine dry the rest. Air dry most shells, unless i need one right away, washing once a week.
Detergent used? Using All Free & clear detergent bc I ran out of RnG.
Love it or hate it? Love changing his diapers so he can wear the next cute color or print still. Hate how its getting cooler out so he cant just be in a diaper and a shirt anymore.. LOL
Things you learned? You can strip diapers in the washer by putting a squirt of blue dawn in and wash on HOT 2x 2x rinses..

My Paleo Diet Part 2
If you didnt read part one, go back and read it..
Ok so after doing some research I made a grocery list for our first week eating paleo.. (we eased into it) Some things to know about this diet when shopping for groceries.. GO to Trader Joes.. It was way cheaper to get alot of the stuff I needed and they actually had what I was looking for.. Things like Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk (canned & carton) Coconut Water Almond flour, Almond Butter, Almond meal, organic meats & fruits & veggies are cheaper.. Actually after a while I actually just learned to make my own almond butter & meal. By buying a big bag of almonds at costco and blending them up in my Ninja! Another thing, You eat so much fruits, veggies, meats & nuts its best to buy that stuff in bulk (costco) and freeze it.
Since it is way easy to fail on a diet if you jump right in and say your never looking back, Each week we have a Cheat Day, Thursday is our day.. we still try to eat paleo most of the day but one or 2 meals we allow carbs/ dairy legumes.. etc.. Pizza and Pasta is usually what sounds good.. LOL
Really the only hardest thing for me has been no cereal in the morning. For as far back as I can remember CEREAL has been the first thing I do in the morning, as it is for my family.. We are big cereal eaters.. So not having it has been hard. Instead I have been making smoothies every morning. half a banana some berries, ice and coconut milk or almond milk and a scoop of my juice plus complete vanilla.. Days that I have no time to make a smoothie I just eat a banana.
I try to keep the healthy snack foods ready to eat in the fridge or pantry.. things like grapes, berries, carrots sticks, trail mix, dried cranberries, glazed walnuts, apple chips & beef jerky & dk choco chips.
I also try to have one salad ready to eat as a snack too like Kale salad or Chicken salad.
Ok here are some recipes we have made so far.. and I honestly cant complain about any!

Grilled Beef & Veggies (unKabobs)
Paleo Pumpkin Fluff Dip To make this Paleo I just used honey, coconut yogurt (dont by the SO delicous brand its so gross, trader joes brand is good), & coconut cream to make the whip, and add it to the pumpkin & other spices.
Almond Butter Cocoa Pudding ( I just put tbsp cocoa in the 2 cups almonds in my food processor and some vanilla extract and coconut oil then blended for 7 mins till almost smooth, then put it on the stove in a pan melted it added some coconut milk and let that bubble stirring constantly, then took off heat let it sit a min then it was done!)
Portabella Burgers (just grilled burgers & portabella mushrooms & assembled)
Beef Strogenoff & Garlic Mashed Califlower
In part three I will talk about my OOPS moment and some of the cons of the diet and the results we are seeing being on it..

My Paleo Diet Part 1
First of all want to thank my SIL for leading me/us to this diet/ way of living. ie Eating Cleaner, Caveman Diet.. etc.
When we got back from MN in September we had been eating like crap mainly the past couple weeks and you know that feeling when you just feel gross, when parts of your skin is touching other parts it really shouldn't, that really feels discusting.. Well thats the way I was feeling.. Bloated mainly.. You know what causes that feeling? Eating out, Sodium & Processed foods..
We all know this fact, and you try to avoid it but socitey and media lead us down a road that wants us to be fat and bloated.. :/ Well screw that! Im sick of it, and I dont want my kids growing up thinking that is the only way it is. They have so much potential why not show them there are other options.
Now normally people go out and buy a book that describes said diet before starting it.. Yes this is an ingenious idea. But i've got a 5 month old that is now waking up every 3hrs at night again. I dont have the mental capacity to read a book right now. So what is the easier thing to do?? Ah Yes, Pinterest! Have I ever mentioned I love PINTEREST?? :) Ps I have ordered a book from amazon.com just waiting on it.. I will read it eventually..
But Basically the Paleo diet is very primal, you only eat what one could hunt or gather themselves.. with exceptions due to modern availability and access and things you could make it from something whole like orange juice and coconut milk and almond milk, (which I plan on making myself very soon).. No Dairy, Legumes, Vegetable Oil, Excess Sugar, or Grains..
